One of the first impressions in Manhattan is the noise pollution. Resting in Greeley Square Park next to one of the busiest roads felt ironic. The constant noise of cars, sirens, rolling carts, and footsteps blurs the park's identity. There are too many elements unrelated to the idea of relaxation and nature.

It's impossible to tell people to stop making noise around the park, so to combat the noise pollution, the noise itself needs to be converted. The reason noise is noise is because it is unexpected, abrupt, sharp, loud, and abrasive. But what if these descriptions no longer apply? If noises are stretched out, made more consistent, and made smoother, will they still be considered noise? Noise Unpolluted challenges the characterization of noise pollution, restoring the identities of small parks as places for relaxation.
